PERU MANU EXPEDITION IN THE AMAZON JUNGLE 11 DAYS OF JUNGLE ADVENTURE!!

DAY1.- CUSCO ANDES - PILCOPATA
Leaving Cusco early, we will pass through the preinca Tombs of Ninamarca, the colonial town of Paucartambo known as the region’s folklore center. The next stop is Acjanacu (3,530m/11,870ft) which is the entrance to the Manu Biosphere, for an overview of the amazon Basin. After that, we’ll descend through different ecological floors such as the puna, the elfin forest, down into the lush Cloud Forest, along the way we may see endemic flora and fauna such as, butterflies, giant tree ferns and orchids, monkeys, birds like, toucans, tanagers, etc. The Cloud Forest is home of Peru’s National bird which is “the Cock of the Rock” (Rupicola peruviana, we visit its lek) and the spectacled bear (tremarctus ornatus) -the only bear found in South America. We overnight at our comfortable and typical Lodge. (L,D)
DAY 2.- PILCOPATA - CAMP - WILDNESS STARTS
After a hearty breakast we continue by car for 2 more hours, then we change the transportation to a "truck" and take a branch following a small river for 1 hour Aprox. then we will start our hike (4 hours more Aprox.) in the way we have chance to spot birds like quetzals, cotingas, tanagers, toucans, woodpeckers, manakins, hawks, Oropendolas, as well as the brown capuchin and the Squirrel monkey, insects and more. Late in the afternoon, we look for a place where to spend the night.(B, L, D)
DAY 3.- CAMP - CAMP - AMAZON AND WILDNESS CONTINUE
This day we should be close to a river, we start to walk a long the sides of this river until we get some "Balsa Wood" to build our rafts, further down we have to build more rafts and start to navegate the river downstream and it is when the "easy" adventure starts, bye this time we must have spotted animals, some fishing in the afternoon can be a good option. Camp (B,L,D)
DAY 4,5,6,7,8,9.- CAMP - CAMP - AMAZON AND WILDNESS CONTINUE
Those days we will navegate, looking for animals, spotting wildlife as much as possible, fishing, learning from nature, fire at night, etc.(B,L)
we look for a place where to spend the night.(B, L, D)
DAY 10.- CAMP - LODGE - AMAZON CONTINUES
This day we should arrive to the end of the river, get a motorized boat and get a village, from where we continue by car (by the way a long ride again 6 hours Aprox.) in the afternoon we arrive in the lodge where a good dinner awaits for us, over night in lodge (B,L,D)
DAY 11.- LODGE - CUSCO
There is regular service for airplanes (1 hour flight), and buses (14 hours) to come back to Cusco, it is an optional alternative (B,L)
